Bid Comments  The WORK consists of reclamation construction at abandoned uranium mines located in San Juan County, Utah. The work includes these tasks: improve access roads, regrade waste rock piles, develop borrow area, divert storm water runon, replace culverts, install shotcrete walls, demolish structures, offsite disposal, seal mine openings, install mine water treatment cell, install vegetative inserts, and revegetate disturbed areas. The WORK will be conducted as a Non-Time Critical Removal Action under CERCLA authorities. The OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) standard (29 CFR 1910.120) will apply to WORK at the site.

Specifications and Drawings:
Final Specifications and Drawings for the WORK are under development and are expected to be available by October 30, 2009.A complete project summary, bidding check list, and instructions to bidders will be included in the final Specifications. In the interim, draft-final drawings are available for download via BidSync for use by bidders.

ALL questions concerning this solicitation must be submitted through the BidSync system. Only answers issued through the BidSync system or issued via an authorized and properly issued addendum shall be the official position of the State.

Any modification to this procurement effort shall be made by addendum issued by the State Division of Purchasing. Only authorized and properly issued addenda shall constitute the official position of the State and shall be binding. Anyone submitting a response to this solicitation, with basis in or other communication or information received from sources other than through official addendum, assumes full risk including the possibility of a determination of non-responsiveness and may be rejected at the sole discretion of the State.

2. Correction:
Page 31 32 33-1, SECTION 31 32 33, SHOTCRETE WALL, PART 1 – GENERAL, 1.1 SUMMARY, paragraph D:
The paragraph states “A cage with a solid roof is required. The CONTRACTOR shall submit shop drawings for the cage and a plan for how workers will use the cage.”
The text in paragraph D. will be revised in the Issued for Construction specifications to state: “The CONTRACTOR shall provide a protective device to protect workers from falling material. As part of the Site-specific Health and Safety Plan (01 35 29), the CONTRACTOR shall submit shop drawings for the protective device and a plan for how workers will use this device.”
Added on Feb 8, 2010:
This addendum is to add Auto Cad drawing and make those available to any interested bidder. If you find it diffcult to download these drawing please contact David Bryan for further informatoin.

Also, this addendum is to update Davis Bacon wage rate. "The Dept of Labor Davis-Bacon Wage Determination General Decision Number UT20080073, Modification 1, dated 12/25/2009, replaces the General Decision Number UT20080073, Modification 0, dated 10/10/2008, pages 3:46-49 of the Specifications."
