The City of Lubbock Storm Water Management Department is seeking statements of qualifications from interested firms and individuals to provide video inspection, geospatial database design and geographic positioning services for existing City of Lubbock storm sewers. Phase 1 of the “Video Inspection of Storm Sewers” project was completed in 2009 and Phase 2 of this project will include additional video inspection of the storm sewer infrastructure and database management. All manholes and pipe invert elevations will be geographically located in order to determine the exact location of all the storm sewer pipes. The collected data will be integrated with the City’s existing storm sewer GIS data. The video inspection shall provide sufficient detail and clarity to properly assess the condition of the storm sewer system. A GIS database will be developed to simplify and streamline long term maintenance and be designed to support expansion as the inventory grows with the City. Portions of the City’s storm sewer system are approaching 80 years old and the condition of existing pipes is largely unknown. The locations of assets are somewhat unknown and need to be tied into the City of Lubbock’s GIS system. Additionally, the data developed in Phase 1 needs to be integrated into the City’s existing storm sewer GIS database and organized so the video inspections and all supporting data can be located and utilized with ease.
